Soccer is no different, no matter how old you are or how long you have been playing, there is always something new to learn. These four soccer training tips can help you improve your performance on the soccer field while improving your confidence.
Endurance Training Can Slow You Down

Many soccer players think that by performing regular endurance training tasks, they can last longer in a game and perform better. This is actually not true though. It has been shown that building up endurance can actually create slower athletes. This is because your body had learned how to conserve a certain amount of energy for future use in order to go a long distance.

This is one of the best soccer training tips for improving your overall performance and speed. If you have been one of those players who prepares for the soccer season by running long distances, then you need to stop. Running sprinting drills will be able to build up your endurance while improving our sprinting and running speed as well.

Exercise Each Leg Separately

Most people think of soccer as a two leg sport, meaning that you use two legs at all times. This is not true though. As you are cutting and dribbling down the field, you will cross over and use one leg at a time. Since this is the way that your legs work throughout an entire game, one of the most important soccer training tips involves exercising each of your legs separately.

To do this, try attempting single legged squats and other activities that separate one leg from the other. By isolating one leg at a time, you are able to build the strength up in each one by teaching them how to work independently, which will lead to better performance during a game.

Strength Train Correctly

Strength training can be done in one of two ways. It can be done for volume or for intensity. When you lift lighter weights for more repetitions, you are training for volume which will build bigger muscles. As a soccer player, you need to learn how to train for intensity which will make you stronger and more powerful.

When it comes to helpful training tips this is one of the best. Many players waste time training in the wrong way and end up with bulkier muscles that make it hard to perform. If you train correctly however, your power will be more intense and targeted.

Keep Technique in Mind

When training for soccer, it is important to keep technique in mind. Just because you can lift 200 pounds does not necessarily mean you should do it if you can't do it precisely. For the best results, go for a lower weight that allows you to do the exercise correctly in a precise and technical way.

Soccer training tips can help you improve your training experience for the upcoming season. No matter how old you are or what level of soccer you are playing, you can benefits from the information included in the above tips. When you take your time and train in the correct way, your game play becomes a lot more effective.

Everything you ought to know about Soccer can be found in this little community. If you're looking for soccer tips, then you've come to the right place.

Article Source: http://www.articlealley.com/article_1159637_32.html

The Beginners Guide For Mountain Biking

Author: Jackie De Burca

Whether you are a beginner or could do with a refresher on the tips and tricks of mountain biking you are on the right track! As a beginner you may have recently bought a mountain bike or just be in the process of choosing one. Once you have it the first thing to do is get to know your bike. Mountain bikes such as Saracen, Commencal, Norco, Raleigh and other manufacturers will be made up of the same basic components but as a beginner it is good to familiarise yourself at the outset.

The anatomy of a mountain bike has the frame materials which will differ depending on which conditions you are choosing your mountain bike to ride in, the bike brakes, handlebars, bike shifters, pedals, wheels and saddles. These parts are self explanatory. The mountain bike also has a bike crank and derailleur; the crank is the part of the bike which is attached to the chain rings and makes the bike move, whereas the derailleur is what shifts the chain from one to the other. Finally it has the bike suspension system which is what helps keep you and your bike in decent condition after your adventurous trip in the elements and through interesting terrain.

Next you need to understand about mounting and dismounting your mountain bike. One of your pedals should be in the 2 o clock position. You need to check that the size of the gear is not too low or large. If this does need changing you can lift up the back wheel and shift gear as you turn the pedals with one foot. When you are ready to mount hold onto the handlebar with two hands, lift your right leg over the back part of the saddle and put your right foot onto the pedal which you can flick around to engage with the cleat mechanism or toe-clip. Next push off with your left foot and lower your rear end into the saddle. When the left pedal comes round to the top centre you can put your left foot there and continue to pedal.

All the time that you are mountain biking you should be in the mindset of thinking a couple of moves ahead. It will help to expand your vision so as not to have a narrow focus on one single obstacle. In the same way do not focus your vision on the rider ahead of you either, as you will not be taking in the expansive view.

When holding the bike’s handle bars do not grip them too tightly as this will cause tension in your upper body making you feel tired faster and not so fluid. Be loose but not too loose. Do not put your thumb on the top part of the handlebar as you will lose your grip quicker if you do hit something. Keep your elbows slightly bent and your shoulders loose but not hunched.

At all times commit yourself to one particular track in advance. Do not hesitate as this can cause problems. Be careful of letting your mind become overactive with thoughts or fear as this can have a knock on effect on your body making your posture change and tension increase. Try to be at one with your bike and the environment; practice being fluid.

Saracen bikes make a good alternative for beginners but have also models that will please intermediate as well as advanced downhill adventurers.

Jackie De Burca is a co-owner of CWA Europe, an International search marketing agency and writes articles for Single Track Bikes, a UK provider of bikes and bike components & accessories from a variety of brand names such as Raleigh, Kona and Shimano just to name a few. There are several reputed companies who provide guidelines and kit for building wonderful pond fountain. With a well equipped pond fountain kit you can build a fantastic fountain in your water garden which will supply the desired warmth and oxygen for the pond plants and keep the entire environment healthy.
Choosing the right supply for building the pond fountains is one of the most crucial jobs. While purchasing the pump for the fountain you must consider the size of the pond and the type of the fountain you wish to have for your garden pond. The kit supplied by reputed companies for fountains include almost everything needed. You must also install a filter for preventing the growth of dirt and harmful algae in the fountain which will damage the well being of the pond plants and the fish. You can use a bio filter for cleaning the fountain.

You should always look for pond fountains which are easy to install. After locating the site and measuring the depth of the water you can place a basin under the water for holding the fountain. For accommodating the hose and electrical wires you should drill a hole in the basin. To keep the basin well settled in the pond bed you can put rocks and stones in the basin. When dredging and digging the pond bed you must not damage the pond plants. For installing submersible fountain you should check whether the height of the fountain is kept in level with water surface.

Pond fountains add to the pond water great amount of dissolved oxygen which helps in keeping the pond plants and fish healthy. By having a pond fountain you can get adequate water circulation needed for keeping the pond water fresh and free from dirt as well.

The pond fountains when properly installed and well maintained can increase the value of your property. While decorating your water garden with beautiful pond plants, fish, lights and fountain you must also keep the entire environment clean.

It is better to build pond fountains which can be maintained easily. To remove the dirt and harmful algae accumulated in the fountain must be cleaned regularly. If you are using a mechanical filter you must clean it frequently. Avoid using chemicals as they can be dangerous for the fish and pond plants and other living inhabitants of the pond. Bio filters are ideal for cleaning the fountain in your fish pond.

Pond and the fountain get dirty over time. If the fountain is not in use for some time algae start growing in the fountain and the basin. By choosing the right kind of pond plants you can keep the fountain and the pond clean. Aquatic plants eat the nutrients and fish wastes and thus restrict algae growth in the pond fountains. If there is algae growth in the fountain basin you can remove the basin and scrub it overall to remove the algae and debris.

Choose the right kind of pond plants to keep the pond fountains clean.

Article Source: http://www.articlealley.com/article_1160339_32.html

Cheap golf balls and accessories: Save money for your golf sport.

I have a blog Zero Waste and one of the reasons for starting that blog is that I hate waste. And here is an online merchant golf balls which are exactly my kind of online merchants, one which do not waste good, usable, used golf balls. Plus one will not waste any money purchasing usable used golf balls from there for they sell golf balls from as low as $1 each. And if you can arrange for bulk purchase, such as by ganging up with your golfing buddies, you can even go for, not only budget golf balls at $1 each, but cheap golf balls at only $0.30 each!!!

Golf balls are not the only golfing necessities you can get from that interesting site. Why waste money lugging around an expensive brand new golf bag when a perfectly usable cheap, used golf bag will do, for after all, both can do the job it is meant to do. That is, carry your golf clubs and other accessories around the golf courses.

Don't know about you, but I wouldn't waste my money on expensive, brand new stuff when cheap and perfectly usable alternatives are available.

Sudoku Puzzle Solving for Recreation

What is Sudoku?
Sudoku is a logic-based number placement puzzle which started its life as "Number Place" invented by an American architect, Howard Garns, in 1979. It was first published by Dell Magazines. The puzzle became very popular in Japan after it was published by the Japanese puzzle giant Nikoli Inc. which renamed the puzzle "Sudoku".

The Japanese word "Su" means number and "Doku" refers to the single place on the puzzle board that each number can fit into. The word "Sudoku" also conveys an impression of a person who is single and perhaps probably correspond to "Solitaire". So it will not give it an English name "Solitaire with numbers." Many people also misspelled it as "Soduko" or "Sudoko."

Its international popularity should probably be attributed to a retired Hong Kong judge originally from New Zealand, Wayne Gould. Wayne Gould took years to developed a computer program to generate infinite number of combinations of the puzzle. He then managed to persuade The Times newspaper in London to publish it as a daily puzzle, first on 12th November, 2004.. Many newspapers later followed The Times newspaper's footstep to publish Sudoku puzzle as a leisurely diversion from serious reading. It is now published daily in newspapers and magazines worldwide and many books have been published on strategies to solve the puzzle, etc.

Amazon product for Sudoku

How is Sudoku played?
The Sudoku puzzle consist of a 9x9 grid of squares divided into 3x3 sub-grids called "regions". Some squares have numbers already filled in, some which you have to fill in with numbers to complete the puzzle. The rule of the game is the numbers 1 to 9 can appear only once on each row, each column, and each region only once.

You can try the game yourself by completing the squares below:

Add To My Blog

The drop down menu allow you to choose the level of difficulties - veasy (very easy), easy, med (medium), hard, vhard (very hard). Every Cricket lover eagerly waits for this mega event that is conducted after every four years. It is the battlefield for supremacy in the cricket world and cricketers all over the world look forward to this event to stamp their authority. The current world champions Australia are favored by many to win the coveted title again. But there are many more contenders to this title. The world cup is organized every four years by crickets governing body the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The 2007 world cup will be held in West Indies and cricket fans can expect some real fireworks from their favorite players during the event. On current form, Australia appears to be the favorite to lift the world cup, especially after their convincing win in the ICC Champions Trophy 2006 which as titled as Mini World Cup. But cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties and this is the beauty of the game. No one actually knows who will win the cup and everyone is busy with their own theories and guessing games.

Australia has won the world cup thrice, the highest number of times among all the teams that will be competing. So they will surely be looking forward to continue the winning streak. Host West Indies have won it twice and they would love to make it a hat-trick this time, especially when they will be playing in front of the home crowd in and also in the conditions that would suit them. Perhaps this is the best chance for the windies to bring back the cup. Other than these two teams. there are many serious contenders for the cup this time, so competition is going to be really tough this time. And whichever team is able to handle pressure well, will come up triumphs in the world cup.

South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and New Zealand all have bright chances of winning the world cup. Preparations are in full swing by all the teams to take a shot at winning the cup. For many players, this world cup could well be their last appearance in any world cup. Some of the player’s aged above 30 and this may well be their last shot at winning the world cup for their country. The Australian team has many players who are above not only 30, but also above 35 years of age. Some see this as the main disadvantage, but the Aussies are a real hard nut to crack especially when they face adverse conditions.

Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting and several other leading batsmen will try their outmost to lay their hands on the world cup. It is difficult to predict who will win the world cup, due to the emergence of new players. These new and upcoming players have completely changed the face of the game. For Shaun Pollock, Glen McGrath and Anil Kumble (if selected) this may well be their last world cup. So many players and many teams have lots of things at stake during this world cup. One thing is for sure, fans will be entertained with good cricket all around, during the world cup cricket 2007.

About The Author

Ella Wilson is a cricket fanatic. Most people make the mistake of trying to learn how to surf on a board that is too short. They see pros riding short boards and think that's what they need. This is wrong and will only make you frustrated and give up trying to learn.

Make sure you get a surfboard that is a least 9' long. You want it to be thick and wide as this will insure it's buoyant and stable. A good choice for learning are those soft-top boards that are like giant Boogie Boards.

Practice these first steps on the sand before you get in the water:

1. Lay the board with it's fin, (or skeg), down in the sand so the top, (or deck), is facing up.

2. Lay on the board on your stomach so your head is about 2/3 of the way towards the front, (or nose), of the board. Since you will spend a lot of time laying on your board you should invest in a rash guard or other UV protective surf shirt such as a StayDry Shirt to protect your stomach from getting a rash and your back from getting sunburned.

3. This next part is done all in one, quick motion: bring your hands up near your chest and grab the sides of the board then jump up and bring your feet up to where your hands are so you are now crouched on your feet and holding the board. Be sure you bring your feet up and under you so you are on your feet near the center of the board and that one foot is ahead of the other, (which foot is up to you).

4. Slowly stand upright as you bring your arms out to the sides for balance. Be sure to keep your knees bent.

Practice this technique,(called a 'pop-up'), until you can quickly and smoothly jump to your feet in one motion.

Now you're ready to hit the water.

Go to a beach that either has small, gentle waves or lots of whitewater you can ride on. Whitewater, (or soup), is the water that rolls towards the shore after a wave has broken. It's the best place for learning as it will be easier to catch when you paddle. You can also have someone stand in the whitewater and push you into the wave while you lay on the board.

Enter the water pointing the nose towards the waves and lay on your board.

IMPORTANT: You want to lay on the board so that the nose of the board doesn't dip into the water OR point up out of the water too high. When you start to paddle you want the nose to be parallel with the water, just skimming the surface.

To paddle keep your head up, your legs together on the board and cup your hands as you reach out into the water and draw them back along the sides of the board. Bring them out of the water down by your hips smoothly and without a lot of splash.

Once you're out and white water is coming towards you turn and point your board towards the shore, lay in the correct spot, (nose skimming the water) and start paddling. When you feel the wave pick you up and start to push you without you having to paddle you're ready to 'pop-up', (see step #3).

It will take some practice but by the end of the day you'll have a lot of fun, get a great workout and be surfing. Just get yourself a rash guard and some board shorts and you'll be a total surfer, dude!

About The Author

A surfer for the last 30 years, Ms. Lori Valesko owns and operates Beach Trading where you can find a great selection of beach apparel and accessories including UV protective clothing and rash guards.

Missouri Snow Goose Hunting

Missouri Snow Goose Hunting
by: Jon Eaton

Missouri, known as the ‘show me state’, is rising in popularity for goose hunting and has been reported as having the finest fowl hunting in the country. The skis have a wider tip, so they're the best style to learn on and are preferred by beginners and advance skiers alike.

* Slalom skis: Used by skiers who prefer to use just one ski. By skiing on one ski, the athlete is able to make sharp turns and reach faster speeds. Recreational slalom skis have a wider tail and a flatter bottom to make it easier to get up and ride straight, while advanced skis have a more tapered tail with beveled edges and a tunnel bottom. These are more difficult to ski on, but will take the skier on a much faster ride.

* Trick skis: Extreme athletes use trick skis to pull off the most outrageous stunts. Trick skis are for spinning, jumping and busting extreme moves in (or over) the water. These are shorter and wider than other style of water skis, and require much more skill. There are no fins on the bottoms of trick skis, so it's easier to slide and turn, but harder to make controlled moves while water skiing.

* Jump skis look like old-fashioned skis, but are made from a hi-tech composite material to make them stronger. As the name suggests, jump skis are used for jumping off of ramps.

The other essential piece of water skiing equipment is a rope. This is what connects you to the boat. Make sure that you have a proper rope with an appropriate handle. Water ski ropes have a flexible elastic quality, so they're able to change speeds and move with the skier. In normal conditions, polypropylene ropes will stretch two to three percent of their standard length of seventy inches.

The comfort of the rope handle is very important, and every water skier has his or her personal preference. Recreational water ski handles usually have a plastic or rubber grip. The plastic molded handles are strong and durable, and will float when dropped in the water. High-performance handles are generally comprised of an aluminum bar covered with a comfortable rubber grip. The construction is lighter, but more comfortable and durable than a molded plastic handle. Higher performance handles are hollow, so they sink when dropped in the water.

It's suggested that you wear goggles while water skiing, especially if you need to wear your eyeglasses. Protective goggles will stop water and debris going into your eyes, and will prevent your glasses from flying off and sinking if you fall into the water.

Water skiing is great exercise and a super fun way to enjoy a sunny day with friends. Strap on a lifejacket, grab some skis and make the most of your day on the water.

About The Author

Nancy Jackson contributes articles to several web sites, such as Yogey and Zigug

Orange Bowl Tickets Are For More Than Just A Football Game

Orange Bowl Tickets Are For More Than Just A Football Game
by: Jay Nault

Orange Bowl tickets offer football fans and travelers several options. Not only is the Orange Bowl one of the premier college bowl games every January, but the game itself is located in one of the most exotic travel destinations in the United States - Miami and South Florida. Fans and families alike have worked their vacation and/or travel plans around this game, and a look at its history and other attractions will explain why the Orange Bowl is always worth the effort to see.

Game History
The first Orange Bowl was played in 1935, when Bucknell defeated Miami 26-0. For 33 years, the Orange Bowl was basically an “at-large” bowl game, in that the bowl committee chose the best two teams it could attract. However, the Orange Bowl started its history of tie-ins in 1968 when it began to host the champion of the former Big 8 Conference every season.

This tie-in remained in place until the late-1990’s, when two things happened that change the landscape of the participants. The first was the formation of the Big 12 Conference, as the Big 8 basically added four teams from Texas after the now-defunct Southwestern Conference folded. This may or may not have had a direct effect on the teams invited, but another event in 1998 led to a shift in the game’s participants.

In 1998, the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) was formed, and this changed the alignment for all of the “major” bowl games - the Orange Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl and ultimately the Rose Bowl. A system was put in place to manufacture an on-field championship game between the two top-ranked teams every season, and each of the four new “BCS Bowls” agreed to host the new national championship game on a rotating basis. Therefore, every four years, Orange Bowl tickets give fans the chance to watch the national championship decided on the field. As of now, when the Orange Bowl is not hosting the “big” game, they will host the ACC champion after that conference’s recent additions.

Overall Event
The Orange Bowl is much more than a football game. In fact, the game itself is a culmination of a week-long celebration in Miami. There are parades, parties, receptions, and even a high-profile college basketball tournament called the Orange Bowl Classic. This year’s tournament will feature national champion Florida, and the games are played in town.

Not to mention, there is an event even within the game itself that’s as famous as the football battles that take place - the Orange Bowl halftime show is perhaps the most famous halftime performance in all of sports, and every year presents a new and intriguing theme with stars of music, sports and film making appearances. There are many attendees who are at the game specifically for the halftime show.

Overall, the Orange Bowl is a legendary event. The games are always battles between two highly-ranked teams, and several national championships have been decided in Miami. However, Orange Bowl tickets also give fans the chance to see much more than college football under the Florida sun in January.

About The Author

Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by www.stubhub.com . However, most do not realize that obtaining a golf career is actually not as difficult as they might originally believe it to be. You don't have to be a professional on the PGA circuit to enjoy all of the freedoms and fun of a career in your favorite sport.

There is a wide array of opportunities right from the beginning golfer all the way up to the professionals. Ideally, most would want to have a career simply playing golf. Although this is entirely possibly, it is advisable to discover if the idea is plausible before going ahead full steam. Perhaps you could start by playing in a few tournaments with cash prizes. If things go well and you end up with some money in your pocket, perhaps a career as a professional golfer isn't all that impossible. However, most golfers don't quite have the stuff to be able to compete for money. Thankfully, there are a lot of other golf careers that will keep you involved in the game even when you're not even on the course.

One thing to consider is to become a golf pro. If your friends are always remarking that you have the perfect swing or how your drives always reach a far distance and are always straight away, then a golf career as a golf professional may be the perfect choice for you. This is also a very flexible job because you decide how many hours you work per week. You could either do a few lessons a week just for supplementary income at the start and once your client base gets big enough, you could start doing it full time. The best advertising is word of mouth, so if your clients are happy with your service they will undoubtedly inform their friends and family as well.

There is also a wide variety of careers that involve the retail aspect of golf. You could start your own golf specialty store, which would keep you surrounded in golf gear every day and talking about golf to your hearts content. There is a booming industry presently with imprinted golf balls, which is a business that you can run directly from your own home. Many people are searching for golf balls with team logos, pictures of family or slogans emblazoned on them. The technology is a bit expensive at the beginning but all you would need to sell your items is a website. There is such a wide variety of golf careers that if you decide you want to work with golf full time, you shouldn't have a problem finding a suitable career.

A golf career doing maintenance on your favorite course will keep you on the grounds all day. Most people that work directly for the golf course either get to play for free, or at a discounted rate. If you have a love for golf, there is sure to be a golf career out there that fits perfectly with your talents. Whether as a golf pro, a retailer, a groundskeeper or even a professional golfer, the options are basically unlimited. So don't be intimidated by those who say you could never have a full time career in golf. Prove them wrong by landing the job of your dreams.

About The Author

Andy West is a freelance writer and communications specialist for SDGA.
